How It Works

Aluminum is an effective thermal conductor. The aluminum plate distributes surrounding thermal energy across its surface and transfers it through the area in contact with frozen food.

The tray contains no powered heating element or chemicals. Actual thawing time varies depending on the type, size, thickness, packaging, starting temperature, and storage conditions of the food.

How to Use

  1. Make sure the aluminum plate is clean before use.
  2. If using the drip-tray version, position the aluminum plate securely over the lower tray.
  3. Place the frozen food on the aluminum surface with as much surface contact as practical.
  4. For raw meat, poultry, seafood, and other perishable foods, use the tray inside the refrigerator and follow appropriate food-safety guidance.
  5. Wash the tray thoroughly after use and dry it before storing.
Important Food Safety Note

USDA guidance identifies the refrigerator, cold water, and microwave as safe methods for thawing perishable food. Do not thaw raw meat, poultry, seafood, or other perishable foods on the kitchen counter or in hot water. Foods thawed using cold water or a microwave should be cooked promptly.
